History

The Holy Cross College of Management And Technology (HCCMAT) is a self-financing college that started in June 2003. Through a decision of the Government of Kerala in 2002, permission was granted to start the College and in the same year affiliation from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam was granted. The College is owned and managed by the Holy Cross Educational Trust, Kottayam, and the Chairman of the Trust and the College is His Grace Thomas Mar Themotheos, Metropolitan. The Holy Cross Educational Trust plays a pivotal role in the development of the infrastructure and other allied facilities on the campus. The institution offers Bachelors’s degree in Computer Science (B.C.A), Management (B.B.A), Commerce (B.Com CA, B.Com F&T), Tourism (B.T.T.M), and English Literature and Journalism (B.A – with Triple Main). The Government of Kerala and the M.G. University have granted permission to start four Post-Graduate courses, M.Com (Master of Commerce), M.H.R.M (Master of Human Resource Management), MSc Computer Science, M.T.T.M (Master of Tourism And Travel Management).

In 2003 the College was started with two Bachelors’s Degree courses only i.e. BBA and BCA and in the ensuing years, other courses were added. The College has been steadily progressing in all directions like academic, non-academic, and in the development of the facilities on the campus. Many batches of students have passed out from 2006 onwards, adding glory to the institution. As a center of learning the College is playing a leading role in the development of management and software skills to an educationally backward region. Students are attracted from far and near.
