Attendance and Academic Progress

  • The working day is divided into two sessions; the forenoon session of three periods and the afternoon session of two periods. Saturdays are working days except for the second Saturdays.
  • The first bell for the class is given 5 minutes before the commencement of the morning session and the afternoon session commences with the second bell at the exact time, fixed for the commencement of the class.
  • Students are expected to occupy their seats in their respective classrooms, at the stroke of the first bell. Attendance will be marked at the commencement of every hour. Students coming late to the class will lose attendance for that particular hour.
  • Permission for attendance to the university examination will not be granted unless:
  1. The student has at least 75% of attendance at the end of each Semester as per the regulations of the Mahatma Gandhi University.
  2. A student gets at least a minimum pass mark in the examination conducted by the College as per the norms laid down by the College.
  3. The Principal is satisfied with the character and conduct of the student.
  • No student shall absent himself/herself from the class without applying for leave. The application for leave should be countersigned by the parent or guardian.
  • When prior permission for absence, could not be obtained, the application for leave, shall be submitted on return, before entering the class.
  • In the case of leave because of illness for more than five days, the Principal may demand production of a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner, approved by the College (max. 10 days in a semester)
  • Absence without leave from class tests, university examination, and at the reopening of the College after the holidays will be seriously viewed. Those who are absent themselves from the opening day classes will be terminated.
  • Students should get minimum attendance of 75% of the class conducted in each subject failing which they will not be promoted to the next semester.
